gave way to the holly berries of winter.
A week when a table laden with candy
was sadly bereft of trick or treaters.
A week when my pick, Ally, placed second
in the Dog Park Halloween costume contest.
A week that included a walk by the canal
and a simple quiche for dinner.
And a disconcerting week when the spread
of the virus resulted in a mandate
requiring masks in all outdoor spaces.
