Week at a Glance ( October 25 – October 31 )

A week when Falmouth’s Main Street was populated
with delightful figures in celebration of Halloween.
Candy purchased and packaged in individual bags
while wondering if trick or treaters will

actually appear during this scariest of years.
A week when cold rain turned to wet snowflakes,
and prompted the building of the season’s first fire.
And a week when a colorful salad brightened a rainy day,
and a newly discovered recipe for Italian bread conjured
a remembered taste and texture, and became a staple.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
