Sweet Girl

Our sweet Daisy is still sick. Refusing all food except for the occasional bite of chicken or fish. This aversion to food is compounded by bouts of vomiting and diarrhea. We’ve been back and forth to the critical care center for x-rays, an ultrasound and a CT scan. All negative. She’s been hooked up to an IV for fluids, and had numerous blood tests. Scans for liver and kidney function all clear. But she’s sick.

Monday will bring an appointment for an endoscopy. This involves anesthesia and a tube inserted to explore the esophagus, stomach and upper part of the intestine. They will be looking for abnormal lesions or suspicious areas. Biopsies will be taken during the procedure.

We had been hopeful that she would have been showing improvement by now, since all prior tests have proved negative. Since that is not the case, we’ve decided to go ahead with the next diagnostic step.

In spite of it all, Daisy remains our gentle, sweet girl, greeting every doctor and technician with a doggie smile and a tail wag.
