Deep Freeze

Old Silver frozen
squirrel adds layer of fat
and Daisy dons boots

Our Pampered Princess in a Yellow Lab Suit, after initial refusal to budge, has grudgingly   accepted her boots as the cost of doing the business of walking on frozen, salt-encrusted streets.

A sturdy local squirrel, encased in a fat suit provided by nature, waits patiently for the bread crusts he’s learned to expect from the soft-hearted Big Guy who fears for his safety.

And then there’s our water surround that usually keeps us temperate. Old Silver has succumbed to the elements and frozen in place.

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general.
