Almost Back To Normal

April started on a cruise ship and is ending with a toilet in the driveway. It was only there briefly while the plumber left to get something back at the shop, but it symbolizes home renovation for me. Things are not where they are supposed to be.

New flooring over much of the first floor, and a gutted bathroom creates a bit of upheaval. Floor is in. Plumber will be back mid-week to hook up the new toilet and sink, and to re-connect the dishwasher.

The good news in that Daisy likes our new, non-slippery floor. She slipped on a wet spot on the tile once and from that point on was afraid to walk on it. This necessitated a number of scatter rugs to get her from point to point. They are now gone.

Funny thing about vacations and home renovation. In the blink of an eye, they are both a memory, and life resumes its normal routine as though it had never been interrupted.
