Bonus Day

img_3991

A rare
February day
when the sky
mirrors the blue
of summer.
When temperatures
in the 50’s
elicit smiles
of delight.
When it’s not only
possible
but mandatory
to move chairs
to the snow free deck.
When a squirrel
does a happy dance
as he scampers
instead of skids
across an ice free railing.
When sunbeams
rather than ice crystals
dance in the afternoon light.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
