Grateful for the fact that Daisy is oblivious to the noise produced by firework displays. I’ve known dogs that actually had to be medicated to help them get through the trauma of the noise. Not our Daisy.
She’s pretty laid back in general. A couple of things get her excited. She senses when company is expected and charges from the front to the back door to make sure she’s the first one to greet the new arrivals.
She also likes workmen in uniforms. A neighborhood walk is always interrupted by stops to greet any lawn maintenance worker, plumber, bug guy, cable guy, etc. She has learned that these people like her and are always willing to play. The UPS guy arrives with packages and a cookie for her. Needless to say, his truck is always a cause for excitement.
Thanks to meds and Frank’s careful soaking of Daisy’s foot twice a day, she’s on the mend. She’s resigned to the whole procedure. Like a kid who gets a lollipop at the doctor’s office after a shot, she knows that she’ll get a cookie after her foot gets a medicated soak.
Just another chapter in our life with Daisy.
