Cautionary Tale

IMG_3210

I neglected to add the required salt to a corn muffin recipe yesterday. It’s amazing the difference a tiny bit of salt can mean to a finished product. The muffins looked much more appealing than they tasted.

But the cautionary tale is not to forget to add salt. It’s to remember to focus on one thing at a time. I was making hummus at the same time that I was assembling the corn muffins. I remember adding salt to the chick peas. Since the salt was on the counter, I must have assumed that I had also added it to the corn muffin mixture.

Multi-tasking is over-rated. We delude ourselves into thinking that we’re getting more accomplished, but in the end, we just end up with flat tasting muffins.
