Often, it’s the simple things that mean the most. All Sam needs to be happy is a patch of sunlight. He’s a furry, immovable object in a little circle of warmth.
His favorite spot for morning sun is the back of the couch in Frank’s office. Later in the day, he’ll move with the sun. If the sun streams in a window to form a patch of warmth in the middle of the rug, he’ll happily curl up and go to sleep. He won’t move. We all (including Daisy) respect that and step over him.
He will also settle on Daisy’s bed when the sun warms that area. This doesn’t seem to bother sweet Daisy at all. She’ll just lie on the floor next to Sam and her bed. Reminiscent of the times when Sam is drinking out of Daisy’s water bowl with Daisy standing behind him, waiting her turn.
Sometimes, I wonder who’s in charge around here. My money is on Sam.
