Situation Normal

If Frank is in the kitchen, Daisy likes to stick close by just in case there’s a handout headed in her direction. Probably because she knows what a soft touch he is! Her sidekick, Sam, isn’t in it for the food. He just likes to be part of the action.

Our favorite Daisy story from her stay with Joanne while we were in Florida involves the distribution of dog biscuits. Joanne said that she didn’t give Daisy any treats for the first two days. This must have really puzzled a dog who is used to getting a “cookie” when she comes in from a walk, for dessert after a meal, and sometimes, just because she wants one.

Anyway, on day three, Daisy took matters into her own paws and started leading Joanne to the “cookie closet.” She probably thought that Joanne didn’t know where they were kept, and she was determined to show her how things were done around here.

She got her cookie.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
