I’ve never owned a pastry bag with different sized tips. Probably because I don’t decorate a lot of cakes. And realistically, cleaning a cloth pastry bag has never been at the top of my “must try” list.
But I wanted to put a bit of raspberry jam into the center of mini corn muffins, and I had heard about disposable pastry bags, so I headed to the kitchen supply store to see what I could find.
There are more sizes of metal tips than I would have thought possible. The real bonus was finding a package of disposable pastry bags. A professional baker would probably scoff at the idea of plastic pastry bags, but for a home cook who rarely has a need for such things, they’re perfect!
So, armed with my new supplies, I was able to squirt jam into the centers of my little corn muffins, allowing a little to bubble up over the tops. The final touch that made them even better!
