Pull the Plug

Our refrigerator decided to stop working late last night. The light was on, but instead of cooling, it was making beeping noises. Needless to say, the refrigerator and freezer were both full in anticipation of a weekend of entertaining.

Now, living on the Cape has many points in its favor. Rapid repairs is not one of them. This morning, before I made some pleading calls to repair people, and ran around the neighborhood looking for freezer space, we decided take a page out of computer trouble shooting and just pull the plug.

You know the drill. More often than not, when a computer or iPhone or iPad freezes up or starts behaving strangely, the best course of action is to shut it down and re-start it. And you can add a refrigerator to the list. At least this time.

The hum of that refrigerator motor was the most beautiful music that I’ve heard in a very long time!

My little TV on the kitchen counter has been behaving strangely lately. A few days ago there was sound but no picture on any channel. I tried pushing all of the buttons on top of the TV and every option on the remote. Finally, I just unplugged the thing and plugged back. Yup, picture restored. Have a great weekend!
