Rhodys In the Yard; Squid in the Freezer

IMG_2223The rhododendrons are in full bloom in the yard. But the true sign of summer is when there’s bait in the freezer. Not just any bait. Local squid. That’s supposed to make it better. I guess the fish like to eat local too.

The kids were here last weekend and found the whole process of Grampy cutting up a local squid delightfully disgusting. No fish were caught that day, in spite of the prime bait. Could have had something to do with the chilly air and gale force winds. But there’s lots more in the freezer.

And the summer is young.
