Daisy is sleeping now. Snoring actually. I’m sitting here staring at my computer screen in a bit of a fog due to the fact that she woke us at 3:30 A.M. She sleeps in a comfy L.L. Bean bed in Frank’s office on the first floor, and isn’t prone to nocturnal wandering, so it was a surprise to find her in our room before dawn.
Thinking that she might have to go outside, Frank took her out and then put her back to bed. An hour later, she was back. Just sitting by our bed and staring at me. When I gave up around 5;15 and asked her if she was hungry and wanted breakfast, she jumped up and stood waiting for me at the top of the stairs. All food words are part of her vocabulary!
She had breakfast and then went back to bed. Frank fell back to sleep too. Not me. I took a shower and went to Market Basket. Daisy is on the couch now sleeping again. All I can say is that this better not be the start of a new routine.
Betsy suggested that we should try giving her a snack before bed. Does anyone in this family remember that she’s a dog?
Keep her up later?
