Finally Plowed Out

The town snow plows finally arrived yesterday around 3 P.M. And we were far from being the last on their list. They obviously have much more to do before the town can be considered fully functional and safe because school was cancelled again today.

Needless to say, I was pretty happy to be able to get out today to take care of a number of errands that had been put on hold. The main roads are clear, but the plows were still out in force dealing with side streets and parking lots.

I can’t fault these guys for the time it’s taking to clear the roads. It was a formidable amount of snow, and we’re just a town with limited manpower and equipment. I can only imagine how exhausted the drivers must be.

The relief that we’re free to leave the driveway may be short lived. I just heard a forecast that was making dire predictions about snow tonight and again on Sunday night into Monday. You could hear the guilty little catch in the announcer’s voice as he added that things didn’t look good for next Wednesday into Thursday either.

I turned off the radio.
