No Spiralizing Today

Gave serious thought to not blogging today. Day is winding down. No spiralizing to report.  Wonderful lunch out today with Frank and Betsy. Pulled leftover pizza from the freezer for dinner later, probably in front of TV.

Been curled up with Susan Branch’s A Fine Romance, her diary of their trip through the English countryside. I took it out of the library, but I think it’s something I need to own. If I had a bucket list, a repeat of her trip would top the list.

Well, not all of it. She and her husband travelled to England on the Queen Mary II. The thought of days on potentially turbulent seas with no land in sight has zero appeal. But a return to the Midlands, and the Cotswolds in particular, would be a delight.

I learned something from her book about travel by ship. A cruise is when you begin and end at the same port. A crossing is travel to a destination. Just a tidbit of information that I found interesting.

Reading slowly. Savoring really. Bringing back memories of roads travelled when I was young.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
