Thankful for the things we have
that we should never take for granted.
Our comfortable home, our food, our clothes.
These are not simple things for far too many.
Thankful for the peace within our walls,
for unconditional love and support
in a world where chaos and strife
create upheaval and shatter lives.
Thankful to be able to see the world
through the eyes of children,
who view snow as magical,
instead of an impediment to travel.
Thankful for this day, and the welcome
arms that will greet our arrival.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
