Grasping the Moment

IMG_1576

Grateful to Daisy. Her need for an afternoon walk provided us with the impetus to head for Beebe Woods. It was one of the Cape’s golden days. Leaves were slowly drifting on a slight breeze, and the sun blinked through branches.

We often think of this place as a summer playground. And it is. We rejoice in its beaches and marvel at the beauty of both land and sea. Our bustling harbors and quiet villages draw return visitors year after year.

But it’s Autumn that shows off the very best that the Cape has to offer. We stay a bit warmer longer than the other side of the bridges because we’re surrounded by water. The light is different here. Softer somehow. Sand underfoot even on trails in the woods. Salt mixed with pine in the air.

Feeling grateful for the freedom to slowly wander through the woods on such a perfect day.
