Random Find

IMG_1476We were in Connecticut for the last couple of nights visiting friends. Yesterday afternoon, while wandering around the Yale Bookstore, I came across a book that I had thought was out of print.

A few years ago, I went on a search for Laurie Colwin’s Home Cooking, A Writer in the Kitchen. Amazon had a few original copies for much higher prices than I was willing to pay. When I asked the staff at the Mobile Book Fair in Newton about it, I was told that it was out of print. So I put it out of my mind.

Much to my delight, there was a paperback copy at the Yale Bookstore just sitting on a shelf waiting for me. All I can think is that other people asked for it as well, and it was re-issued in paperback form.

Love serendipity!

  1. Isn’t it so exciting when you make a find like that? You want to dance a jig! But then rethink that, they might call for a white coat! Happy to hear you found a copy.
