Labor Day Weekend

IMG_1220

Logical end of
summer here
on the Cape.
Monday will see
heavily laden cars
slowly making their
way across bridges.
Bike paths and
beaches will seem
strangely quiet at first,
but will rapidly
become normal
as we ease into
a quieter pace.
Rose hips and
bittersweet are
already starting
to replace the
beach roses of summer,
but the water remains
warm, and gentle
breezes caress those
of us who are
fortunate enough
to call this home.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.

The local chamber should hire you! What an inviting description!
