The Railroad Bridge

IMG_1393

The railroad bridge that connects the Cape to the mainland is a point of interest for locals and tourists alike. It’s the rare person who doesn’t stop to watch as the bridge lowers into position to allow the train to rumble across the span of the canal. Once the train has reached its destination, the tracks head skyward once again to accommodate boat traffic.

The original well-oiled machine.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
