The Mountain Is Out

It’s my understanding that if you hear a local say, “The mountain is out today,” it means that Mount Rainier is clearly visible in the southeast. We’ve has an amazing view of the mountain for the last couple of days.

It’s kind of funny. I really had two hopes for our brief stay in Seattle. To see Mount Rainier and to go to Pike’s Market. The Chihuly Museum was a “might be nice if we had time” sort of thing.

Seeing Mount Rainier has been a thrill. My eye has been drawn to it on a regular basis. The market was fun, but as life would have it, it was the Chihuly that awed and delighted me. The showcase of Dale Chihuly’s glass sculptures is truly beyond description.

When I think of Seattle, the unforgettable Chihuly sculptures will take center stage in my memories.
