Day One: Seattle

Beautiful morning in Seattle. My rainy image of this city has been replaced with the reality of blue skies and warm temperatures. Excited to have a full day and night before tomorrow’s cruise to explore.

The Marriott Waterfront is perfectly situated for our needs. It’s directly across the street from the cruise ship dock. We’ve cruised before, so I do know how big these ships are, but it was still a shock when I opened our curtains this morning and saw the Jewel, a sister ship to the Pearl that we’ll be boarding tomorrow, at the dock. The picture is a view from our window.
We’ll be heading out shortly to join a tour of Pike’s Market. It’s a silly thing, I know, but I’ve always wanted to see them throwing the fish. And I want to see the masses of flowers.

Hoping to take advantage of the delightfully clear weather to go to the observation deck of the Space Needle. Discovered that there’s a monorail that will take us directly to it.

We’re used to being surrounded by tourists at home. Shoe is on the other foot here. I’m the wide-eyed tourist here with city map in hand!

Omg! Massive & Regal looking… Love your blog. So happy the weather is beautiful in Seattle. Heading over in the evening to watch a little of our favorite shows and to give Sam some TLC. 😉 Cathy is under the weather…she was pretty sick actually. They won’t be coming in this weekend. She’s resting and hoping not have to go in for any scans or tests. Fingers crossed.

Frankie Valli was incredible. We really had a fun night out. Btw, we did cancel our reservation at the chart room. The cape is mobbed with traffic… Thanks anyway. Have a blast… Put on a catchers mit and get one of those fish! Lol xo. Janet. Love to Frank,Mary and Gerry too.
