Next Stop: Seattle

Leaving today for Seattle and then a week long cruise to Alaska. I’ll be really glad to finally be in the car on the way to the airport. Head still swirling with last minute details. Wonder if I remembered to tell Janet that Sam likes his milk on a flat saucer? Warmed for about five seconds in the microwave. As I write this, I’m thinking that it’s pretty obvious that I really need a vacation!

Happy that we’ll have some time in Seattle. Excited to see Pike’s Market and the Chihuly Museum. We’ve booked a tour of the market with “tastes” at various locations. Looking forward to that.

The cruise is actually a repeat for us. Somewhat different in that we went out of Vancouver last time. Some of the ports are different as well. Our first trip was about 17 years ago. A number of things have changed. I remember packing outfits to “dress” for dinner. There are no heels in my luggage this trip. Casual is pretty much the order of the day. There are no longer assigned tables in a formal dining room. Lots of restaurants on board to choose from. And this time, we’ll have a balcony instead of a picture window. And we’ll be traveling with close friends. All of the changes sound good to me.

I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to continue blogging on a daily basis. I have an App that should allow remote blogging, but having access to WiFi might be an issue when we’re not in a port. I’ll do the best I can.

Time to cross the last few items off the list. Next blog will be from Seattle.
