A Good Day

IMG_0325Early morning is such a busy time out on the deck. The Cardinal and his partner have both been to visit.  Frank says that they come for the moths that hover around the planter under the light. Sam and I know better. The Cardinals make a deliberate stop outside the French doors to make sure that we’re here. The Carolina Wrens are a different story. They’re definitely here for the moths. In their hurry, they periodically crash into the screen. Sam likes that part.

Our resident Chip and Dale have been chasing one another across the deck. Interesting how many animals travel as a team. Chipmunks are never still. The Morning Doves seem peaceful. They sit on the railing apart from the flurry of activity.

It’s a crystal clear day.  Cool, without the clouds and wet blanket of humidity that have plagued us this week. A day to turn off the AC and open the windows wide. A day just to be happy to be in this place at this time.
