What a Difference a Day Makes

IMG_1202 2

The wind has taken
charge of  the situation.
Chasing away clouds
to make room for
sun and blue sky.
Folding away the heavy
blanket of humidity.
Rattling the shutters
in a call to throw
open
the windows.
Letting
in air so full of
freshness and promise.

Birds join in riotous chorus
to spread the joyful word
that the storm has passed.
Enforced hibernation
making today’s freedom
all that more sweet.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
