New Suitcase

IMG_1155

I bought a new suitcase. My goal was to find a color that would stand out in a sea of standard black. I think I managed to succeed on that front! Flights and reservations booked long ago are tantalizingly close at hand. Not close enough for actual packing, but close enough to think about what to pack.

Read a great quote recently that mirrors my thoughts perfectly and phrases them far better than I.

From an essay entitled, “Do Not Disturb,” in Ann Patchett’s This Is the Story of a Happy Marriage:

I think the best vacation is the one that relieves me of my own life for a while and then makes me long for it again.”

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
