“I Want That!”

I’m not usually the acquisitive one in our relationship, but this particular item made me stop in my tracks and say with utter conviction, “I want that!” We were in Home Depot a number of years ago when I saw this little treasure tucked between a couple of grills. We loaded it into the car that very day, and I’ve been delighted by the purchase every summer since.

It’s called an Outdoor Stove Top made by Char-Broil. It’s fueled by its own propane tank and produces really high heat. Our particular model is no longer manufactured, but there are other versions available on line. Being able to steam lobsters and clams and corn out on the deck in the summer really streamlines the process. And keeps the steam and mess and smell out of the house.

I’m thinking about this at the moment because we had our first clam boil of the season last night. I was reminded once again how delighted I am with this thing. Summer entertaining at its finest and easiest!
