Beebe Woods

The yellows and pinks
and purples of spring
have given way to the
green of summer.
Canopies of leaves
filter the sun as we
travel the familiar
of Beebe Woods.
Lush ferns line the trail.
Ivy continues a steady
climb up tree trunks,
ever hopeful to see
the sky. Lilting sound
of birdsong in the air.
So close to the sand
and surf and crowds
of a beach community,
yet seeming so far.
A peaceful oasis
an often frenetic world.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
