Christmas Tree Shop

IMG_1098A little strange that my first thought upon waking this morning was about the Christmas Tree Shop. Probably because I was filling in dates on a calendar last night.  Or because the light filters in so very early as we head toward June. Or because the windows are open and the air feels almost balmy.

Memorial Day arrives early this year. The start of the summer season here on the Cape. AKA entertaining and event season. Time to stock up on napkins, plastic plates and cups, utensils, aluminum pans. Explains my focus on the Christmas Tree Shop. It’s summer cottage heaven there these days. Where else can you get a wire grill brush with a wooden handle for $2.37?

I try to be good about recycling and honestly think about not being a card carrying member of the throw away society, but disposables are non-negotiable for a group of twenty people out on the deck and patio. Think “Porgy and Bess.” It’s summertime and the living is easy. Besides that, plastic doesn’t break when dropped on patio stones. How’s that for rationalization?!
