Beach Rocks

IMG_1031Read an article on The Improvised Life site that sent me to the beach to forage for flat rocks. The thrust of the article was that rocks can have multiple uses.

Think bookends or candle holders or simple, eye-catching sculptures. Forget the flat side of a chef’s knife. A perfect rock that fits in your palm can smash garlic with ease. Pile of napkins outside on a windy day? Reach for a rock. Kids need an activity? Reach for the poster paints.

Often beautifully streaked with minerals. Often with unusual shapes. Always free at the beach!

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
