You Know It’s Spring On The Cape

IMG_0026.JPGWhen lawn service trucks outnumber cars on the road.
When the Landfall has their two for one special.
When friends are busily opening cottages.
When grilling is the order of the day.
When the calendar start to fill with “opening days.”
When tickets are available for the first play of the season at the local theater.
When you start planning trips off cape with bridge traffic in mind.
When the screens go up and the door to the deck remains open.
When Sam sits near a screened window or door and watches the birds for hours.
When boat prep and lawn and garden cleanup trump housework.
When raked leaves unearth green shoots and sometimes even flowers.
When you wonder where you tucked the lobster pot.
When the earth is full of promise, and outside is the best place to be.

About Mary Jane

I am a retired English teacher. My husband, Frank, and I have lived on Cape Cod since 2000. I am a lifelong bread baker and writer and have been posting a blog on Falmouth Patch for the last few years. Savory Seasons has been largely devoted to recipes and food in general. I am hoping to expand my focus in this new blog.
