There’s An App For That

IMG_0875 Thinking about how apps have become part of my life without my really being aware of it. I heard something on the radio yesterday that made me pause. The announcer on WBZ was encouraging listeners to advertise on their station because they have a larger listening base now that so many people are using apps on their phones and iPads to tune in. The app I was using at the time was TuneIn Radio. It’s programmed for instant access to WBZ and WCAI. When I listen to music, I use iTunes Radio.

I used to watch the morning news. Now I check AP Mobile and a weather app. I’m writing this on my iPad using an app called Evernote. I journal on Day One and make “to do” and grocery lists on RemindersNetflix and WGBH apps keep me company on the treadmill.  And the list goes on and on and on.

The funny thing is, I’m sure that I’m just a dabbler in this world. I don’t play games, so that immediately knocks me out of the big leagues.

I guess I’m just wondering when all of this became routine instead of amazing.
