More snow predicted for Monday? Bring it on. Along with March comes an attitude shift. I’m certainly old enough ( and enough of a New Englander ) to know that it always snows in March, but I also know that it melts faster and that the water seeping into the ground is providing the moisture that will foster the green of spring.
I’m going to align myself with Ralph Waldo Emerson, who wrote what I consider to be the perfect poem for the first of March.
Beyond Winter
Over the winter glaciers
I see the summer glow.
And through the wild-pile snowdrift,
The warm rosebuds below.
